The Public Cyber Security Summit (KSGZ), which was organized by the Public Informatics Association, brought together IT workers of institution to share information and experience. It was held on April 6, 2017 at Bilkent Hotel.
Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport Maritime Affairs and Communications Galip Zerey, Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA) President Ömer Fatih Sayan, Türksat CEO Cenk Şen, IT workers of institution, as well as individuals responsible for processing personal data with public information infrastructures and services, were among the people in attendance.
Galip Zerey, Deputy Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, in his speech pointed out that cyber security is a matter that is followed closely and in which considerable amount of time is spent on. He added that one should always be prepared for possible attacks.
ICTA President Ömer Fatih Sayan pointed out that the security and prosperity of developed countries are built on digital foundations, and added that in this context while establishing a developing society equipped with digital abilities and knowledge, security should also be established at the same time. Sayan said, “In information, as the content and the hardware become more complex and intelligent, it becomes more exposed to risk.” explaining that for network and communication security, IoT devices, which are durable and not vulnerable against cyber attacks, should take its place on the market.
Ensar Kılıç, Founding President of the Public Informatics Association and Communication General Manager stated that while information communication technologies are developing rapidly and touching our lives, they are on the other hand bringing about threats. He pointed out that the cyber attacks are now supported by the state, and noted that they plan to carry out many activities and training in order to raise awareness in society.
