Türksat Corporate Information and Cyber ​​Security Management Director Mehmet Ali Erkul spoke at the Security and Privacy Panel in Smart Cities at the International Istanbul Smart Grids and Smart Cities Congress and Fair ICSG 2021. Erkul said that Smart Cities will grow with zero trust architecture in cyber security.

Speaking at the Security and Privacy Panel in Smart Cities held at Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center with the communication support of Türksat, Erkul pointed out the importance of cyber security in the development of smart cities and network systems. Stating that with the development of the smart city infrastructure, privacy and security systems have also developed and automation and artificial intelligence have come into play, Erkul explained that all process operations are completed at many points without being sent to the center.

Emphasizing that zero trust architecture should be implemented in security in smart cities, Erkul stated that Zero Trust Architecture is developing rapidly. Stating that it is necessary to accept that there are always external and internal threats in the network, Erkul emphasized that security policies should be dynamic and calculated from as many data sources as possible. Explaining that there is a trend for managed security facilities to be proactive, Erkul underlined that it is imperative that cyber security units, in particular, carry out process management effectively in smart city applications.
